Wandering Bot privacy policy
Wandering Bot is a DayZ server owner tool. The dashboard stores only the information needed to run Discord feeds, server controls, billing access, and support workflows.
Information used by the service
Wandering Bot may store Discord user and server IDs, channel IDs, role IDs, linked gamertags, player shop order history, dashboard login records, server profile settings, feed routing choices, billing plan state, and support messages.
Player sign-in uses Discord to identify the account and the configured communities it currently shares with Wandering Bot. The Discord OAuth access token is not stored in the player session.
Provider, FTP, Discord and Stripe secret values are treated as server-side credentials. They are never placed inside the mobile app package.
Faction chat and optional phone alerts
Where a community enables faction chat, Wandering Bot stores plain-text messages, authors' Discord IDs and display names, timestamps, faction membership settings, and log-based base alerts. Member access is checked against current Discord membership and, for linked chats, private-channel permissions. This is not end-to-end encrypted messaging; the service operator and authorised server-dashboard administrators can access retained content for support, moderation and auditing.
App-only messages stay in the faction app room. If a community explicitly links a private Discord channel, new eligible text messages are relayed in both directions and app posts are labelled as coming through Wandering Bot. Discord retains its own copies under Discord and community settings; deleting app data does not automatically remove those Discord messages.
The app keeps up to 30 days of chat and alert history, capped at 1,000 messages and 200 alerts per room. Pruning runs when the store is used. Community administrators control access and whether their faction room is enabled.
Optional Android phone notifications require a supported app release, an enabled notification service and the member's opt-in. Device registration tokens are encrypted in server storage and bound to that member's signed-in session. Chat and base-alert options are separate for each faction and phone. Signing out revokes that login's subscriptions; phone registration expires with the login, within 30 days.
Google Firebase Cloud Messaging delivers phone alerts and processes device/installation identifiers and delivery-related technical data under Google's applicable terms. Our notification payload contains only a generic faction-update notice, not chat text, names or base coordinates. Delivery may be delayed; an alert already accepted by the provider cannot be recalled. The member can turn off phone alerts in the app or Android settings.
Wandering Voice and audio
Wandering Voice processes a member's speech only after that member explicitly opts in to an active translation session. Consent can be withdrawn at any time and is also cleared when the member leaves the voice channel or the session ends.
Short audio segments are held temporarily in memory and sent to OpenAI's API for transcription and translation. Wandering Voice does not write voice recordings to its application storage or create voice profiles. OpenAI processes the submitted audio and text under its applicable API data controls.
When spoken output is selected, translated text is converted into a clearly disclosed AI-generated synthetic interpreter voice and played into the active Discord voice channel. Wandering Voice does not clone, imitate, or create a reusable profile of any member's voice.
Translated captions may be posted in the Discord text channel selected by the server administrator and therefore remain subject to that server's Discord message retention and moderation settings.
How information is used
The data is used to route feeds, manage DayZ server dashboards, show a player only their own linked server profiles and economy, process player shop orders, enforce dashboard access, process setup actions, support billing or manual access, and help server owners audit staff actions.
The app and dashboard use the same backend permissions. Installing the mobile app does not bypass owner or server access checks.
